This is exactly what Blocktrend's gift exchange event is all about! Not only can you introduce your favorite cryptocurrency to someone else, but you’ll also receive a thoughtful gift in return. The game is super simple and involves just three steps: prepare your gift, wrap it, and sign up to participate.
Choosing Your Gift
The gift selection is the most creative part of the event. In theory, you can choose any type of cryptocurrency to prepare as your gift. However, there are two rules:
Gift Value Limit: Each gift must be worth $10 or less to ensure the value of the gifts participants receive is relatively balanced. The exact amount is up to your creativity.
Ethereum Ecosystem Assets Only: The cryptocurrency you send must be an asset within the Ethereum ecosystem. For example, Bitcoin should be sent as cbBTC or wBTC, and if it's SOL, use wSOL. This aligns with the requirements for “wrapping the gift.”
Once you've chosen the cryptocurrency, it’s time to move on to the wrapping phase. Place your cryptocurrency, valued at $10 or less, into a special “Gift Exchange Box.”
Wrapping the Gift
For this event, the Gift Exchange Box is a special feature built into the Coinbase Wallet. As such, all participants must download the Coinbase Wallet app on their mobile phones to take part. Once installed, you can either create a new wallet or import a seed phrase. Make sure the cryptocurrency you intend to gift is already in your wallet.
Next, it’s time to wrap your gift. On the Coinbase Wallet assets page, tap Send and select the cryptocurrency and amount you want to gift. When prompted to enter a recipient address, tap Send via Shareable Link.
If you don’t see this option, it means the gift you selected can’t be placed into the box, and you’ll need to choose a different cryptocurrency. If you encounter repeated issues, using USDC on Ethereum L2 networks (such as Arbitrum, Base, or Optimism) will definitely work. Finally, click Create Link, and your gift will be successfully placed into the exchange box.
You’ll receive a unique link, which functions like a gift box—no one can see what’s inside from the outside. However, once the recipient clicks the link, they’ll receive the gift you prepared.
The final step is to fill out the registration form and wait for the random pairing process.
Sign Up to Participate
Use the button below to access the gift exchange registration form.
Paste your gift link and write a short message for the person who will receive it. You can explain why you chose this token or leave a hint about the gift. For example, someone gifting SHIB might say, "This is a flying dog," while someone sending POL could write, "Made in India, quality guaranteed." The recipient will receive an email with your message, and after reading it, they can open the gift box and claim your Christmas gift through their wallet.
Once all the forms are completed, I will randomly match participants on Christmas Day. Your message and gift box will be sent via email to another participant in the event. Everyone who sends a gift box will also receive a thoughtfully prepared exchange gift from someone else. If the recipient does not claim their gift within five days, the gift will automatically return to the sender's wallet.
